My target audience for my film is for young people between the ages of 12 - 18, i am also aiming it towards young people who come from a working class background. As the genre of my film is a coming of age i feel people who are from a working class background will be able to relate more and also appreciate the character of Johnny and what he goes through. By Johnny attending a public school many people of a young age can relate and also a variety of ages as everyone has been to school at one point in there life. Public schools are very multi cultural therefore it will also relate to a variety of ethnicity's.

Question 5 - What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Continuity editing – In this preliminary task, as well as becoming more familiar with working with the camera, tripod and Dolly. We also gained knowledge and understanding about match-on-match action and we also learnt about sticking to the 180 degree rule. When using match on match action is makes it more interesting for the audience to watch and by using the 180 degree rule it makes it easier for the audience to follow as all action will either be on the left OR right side of the actors. When creating my film opening I stuck to the 180 degree rule as I discovered from this task it made the film opening easier to follow. We learn about filming shot reverse shots when a conversation is taking place. I also used shot reverse shot in my film opening to show a connection between the people in the shots.
This is an example of Match on match action in my continuity editing.
Question 6 - Looking back at the preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Life on Mars - This was the first task we did. Within this task we learn how to use technology such as the camera, tripod and Dolly. We also became familiar with using final cut express to edit our footage. In this task we watched a extract from 'life on mars', we then had to reproduce our own. By watching the clip and reproducing it we learn a variety of shots and we also learnt how to take our own. I gained knowledge on the preparation needed to start filming, for example filming in a safe suitable area, If weather conditions are suitable, If a Dolly will be needed, if it is quiet without disruptions and more. When filming the variety of shots you was able to learn able different angles and what looks good and what would make the shot better. When all footage was filmed I then developed skills with final cut express and editing.
